Captain Nick Petrou
Growing up on Long Island, NY with a commercial fisherman for a father, Nick was fully immersed in fishing from a young age. Always on the boat with his father fishing for everything from Blackfish to Fluke and even a few Giant Bluefin. But freshwater fishing always caught his eye more than anything, especially bass fishing. Once Nick got his first boat at the age of 14, the rest was history and the fish were doomed.

Fast forward to 2023 when Nick moved to Geneseo, NY, in the heart of the western Finger Lakes and some of the best freshwater angling in the country. After fishing here for many years on weekends and time off from work, it was a no brainer to settle down in one of the most diverse fisheries in the northeast.
After many years of debate whether to start a charter operation, Natural Outfitters, LLC. was formed in March of 2025. What Nick loves the most is sharing his knowledge of the water, fish and ecosystems with the people who board his boats. Natural Outfitters is a tribute to his father, the late Nick Petrou Sr., who was nicknamed “The Natural” for his natural ability to find fish and consistently put big ones of all species in the boat. Like father like son, Capt. Nick does whatever it takes to put his clients on the fish.
